When the founder of GecoTerra was a student at University of British Columbia (UBC), finances were tight. Dining out wasn’t an option, and small treats became big rewards. On weekends, if grades were good or after a tough exam week, a simple one junior chicken sandwich or a pizza slice was how he would treat himself. It wasn’t about luxury — it was about getting through school with limited resources and doing the best he could with what he had.
That experience never left him.
Today, GecoTerra exists because of a belief that students deserve support, not just encouragement. If future leaders are less burdened by everyday costs, they can focus more on learning, growth, and contributing positively to society — including building a more sustainable future.
